Pre-production

Producing video content—whether it’s a feature film, TV series, commercial, corporate video, music video, or documentary—begins in the pre-production stage.

The Process

We know that every project is different. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to pre-production, and we tailor our process to the specific needs of all our clients. We listen to your challenges and find solutions. We’re your eyes and ears on the ground, your contact with locals, your runner, and your right hand.

But, for your reference, here is a rough outline of the pre-production process and the services we offer.

  • Develop a Script and Storyboard: That’s right, even if you don’t have a script or an idea that’s been greenlit for production, we can help! We have a team of creatives who can work with you to bring your concept to life.
  • Assemble the Right Crew: We have a network of professionals we’re proud to work with. Whether you’re looking for a director, sound engineer, boom operator, caterer, driver, set designer, or lighting technician, we’ll connect you with the right people.
  • Scout a Location: Our scouts have the international (and local!) expertise you’ll need to secure the perfect location for your on-location shoot. In addition to helping you find the ideal backdrop for your video, they’ll assist with language barriers, permits, feasibility, and accessibility.
  • Budget: While this part of pre-production may not be the most ‘fun,’ it’s certainly necessary. We have a team of financial experts who can help prioritize your budget and ensure you’re working within your means.
    • Secure Your Equipment: It’s important that you have the right gear. We have relationships with rental companies around the world and can get you the best deals on global equipment insurance.
    • Apply for Permits and Insurance: Whether you need to apply for a permit, prepare a location agreement, or secure insurance, we have the knowledge and resources to ensure that all the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed, no matter where in the world you’re shooting.
